We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef for our new restaurant that

opens in the middle of March 2017. You will be responsible for organizing the kitchen’s

activities and will be the first in command in the kitchen and will create and inspect

dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality. You are an

entrepreneur looking to be part of something new and exciting and enjoying working in a

dynamic team. You also have an interest in healthy food with a focus on food with a low

glycemic index and adapted to allergies/intolerances such as gluten, lactose and casein.

The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer

services is essential to succeed in this role.

Duties and responsibilities:

 Refer to list of needed ingredients on a day-to- day basis and check inventory

 Supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities

 Make arrangements to store food items in a safe and orderly manner

 Maintain kitchen order by ensuring cleanliness of tables, counters and work

areas

 Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils

 Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food

 Select and develop recipes together with the owners

 Standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality

 Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer
 Oversee the work of subordinates

 Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

 Establish presentation technique and quality standards

 Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers

 Work together with the front of the house to ensure a high quality and timely

service

 Be part of the external sales process of the restaurant

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

 Significant cooking experience in a restaurant setting

 Proven experience as a head chef

 Experience from menu development

 Degree in Culinary science or related certificate

 Up-to- date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes

 Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant

management software, POS)

Skills

 High level of English & Spanish. Scandinavian language is not a requirement, but

would be advantageous

 Outstanding communication and leadership skills to work effectively in a hectic

work environment

 Exceptional organizational and planning skills

 Effectively managing time and productivity whilst at work.

 Ability to undertake and perform duties to a satisfactory level in a busy work

environment.

 Achievement-motivated to work with Akinon Resort to set and surpass realistic

goals.

Working Conditions:

 You will need a car or other mode of transportation to and from work

 Work permit to work in Spain
