The Restaurant Sous Chef is responsible for all culinary activities for the restaurant together
and in absence of the Chef. This position will oversee all activity in the kitchen, train personnel,
oversee product purchasing and velar for a healthy work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Make periodic and regular inspections of the different areas in the kitchen to observe
quality of food preparation and plating; cleanliness and sanitation of production and
service areas, equipment and employee appearance.
• Make sure all health procedures are compliant according to California Health
Department.
• Coordinate all training activities for kitchen, including the identification and analysis of
training needs and the design and implementation of programs to address these
deficiencies. Consistence in food preparation and plating.
• Assist in plating and in any of the kitchen areas during service to achieve an efficient
kitchen performance during service.
• Continue creating a strong relationship with current providers and compare pricing with
other competitors for purchasing within the budgets.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages all employees of the department together with the Chef and is
responsible for the performance of the kitchen team. The position requires long hours, including on the weekends. The company is looking for a responsible Sous Chef who shares the same values of the company and would like to grow with us.

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree with major concentration in food preparation, management, nutrition
or related field.
• At least five years of progressive experience in high-volume food production or catering,
in a Spanish restaurant.
• Excellent culinary and leadership skills
• Ability to solve problems and ensure a high quality of all dishes in a high volume and fast
paced restaurant
