Right in the center of the city of Groningen, in the shadow of the Martinitoren, you will find boutique Hotel Prinsenhof Groningen with 34 hotel rooms and 2 high-quality restaurant concepts; Grand Café and fine dining Restaurant Nassau. In addition, the hotel has 4 rooms for private meetings.
Hotel Prinsenhof is located in monumental buildings where the Martinikerkhof and the Prinsentuin are an essential part of the experience. You can experience history with contemporary comfort, both from the outside and in the rooms of the hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet and serene place in the middle of a bustling city. Characteristic of Hotel Prinsenhof is the high-quality standard (four star plus) and the sincere hospitality. The guest is central, but that is not enough: every day we strive to exceed the high expectations of our guests.
To strengthen our young and enthusiastic kitchen brigade, led by chef Christian de Vries and sous chef Dion ter Velde, we are immediately looking for a creative, enthusiastic and skilled independently working cook.
Position: Sous Chef
Preparing dishes/dish portions according to recipe and own planning.
Planning the daily activities and ordering food and other stock replenishments. Receive, check and store ordered foodstuffs and other items.
Mise end place work.
Co-lead and motivate the kitchen team.
Quality control and correction thereof.
Inventing and developing new dishes and composition of the menus.
Monitoring the budget with regard to gross margins, purchasing and time management.
Supervision of hygiene according to HACCP.

Relevant work experience (minimum 2 years) in a similar position is required.
Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques and products.
You are used to working with only traditional and fresh products.

You like to work in a team.
You are stress resistant.
You have a professional and service-oriented attitude with an eye for quality.
It is nice if you already have a teacher's diploma.
Salary: € 13.00- 15 € gross, per hour of work
Working hours: Fulltime
Workweek: Every week different schedule.

Accommodation cost: around 500€ per month

Travel cost: Boat ticket will be paid by the company.
