Dear Candidate.
We have open positions for Bar Keepers with a Luxury River Cruise Line.
Job Summary
§ Oversee the daily operation of assigned Bars and ensure that assigned public areas are kept clean, neat and tidy at all times.
§ Greet Guests in a professional manner. Provide them with prompt and courteous Beverage service at assigned Bar counters. And provide prompt Beverage service to the service Staff.
§ Provide a six star service to all Guests and deal with complaints and comments in an efficient and timely manner.
§ Do additional duties in other departments such as gangway duties, luggage, stores loading and Teatime service etc. as necessary.
Job Description
§ Monitor and control assigned bar inventory and make bonded, subsistence and consumable requisitions accordingly.
§ Ensure that assigned Bars are ready for service as per schedule.
§ Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in assigned pantries and Bars (following USPH standards).
§ Ensure the proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment in Bars and Pantries at all times.
§ Follow and execute the Shipboard Sanitation Program and to complete and update all Sanitation Log sheets as per policy.
§ Ensure that all equipment is properly and securely stored away when not on duty and keep assigned area clean and tidy.
§ Manage and oversee Bar operation onboard.
§ Oversee the wine and beverage service in cooperation with the Sommelier in the Dining Room.
§ Monitor the inventory of lockers and ensure that they are all kept organized, clean and tidy.
§Train, coach, council, support and delegate the designated Bar Waiter(s) in assigned Bars.
§ Report work orders when deficiencies are noted or when maintenance is required and to follow up on the work orders in a timely manner.
Financial Responsibilities
§ Keep an accurate record of assigned Bars stock and held responsible for any losses that may occur.
§Ensure promotion of Bar sales in assigned Bars.
§ Ensure that Guests sign their checks for items on the Connoisseur List.
§ Ensure that Company property is maintained properly and treated with respect.
Requirements
§ European Union Passport
§ College Degree/Diploma, etc in the food service industry required.
§ Minimum 3 years’ experience in a luxury international hotel or 2 years in the luxury cruise ship industry preferred.
§ Must have previous Bar Waiter/tress experience.
§ Very good spoken English (needs to score at least 70% in the onboard English proficiency test).
§ Good product and beverage knowledge.
Skills
Good communication skills.
Must have very good organizational skills and show attention to detail.
Must undergo onboard USPH training.
Must have initiative and the ability to work independently.
Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
Must be service minded with an outgoing, charming and friendly personality.
